No need to cause wear & tear on the poor PC, it did nothing to deserve that kind of abuse...
You can change the driver quite easy:
1. Go to Device Manager.
2. Expand the section "Sound Video And Game controllers"
3. Locate the two card drivers:
" DST Audio controller"
" DST Video controller"
(They might have a different name, if you had the ones from Twinhan, Makes no difference)
4. Right click on them one at a time and select "Update Driver..."
5. Wizzard comes up. Select "No, Not this time"
6. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
7. Select "Don't search, I will choose the drivers to install"
8. UNCHECK Show compatable hardware.
9. Click "Have Disk"
10. Click Browse
11a. Go to "C:\program files\mytheatre\drivers\twinhan\bda\all pci cards\winxp\878BDA.inf
11b.Go to "C:\program files\mytheatre\drivers\twinhan\wdm\all pci cards\dtv.inf
Ok, you have two choices here: BDA drivers, and WDM drivers. The difference is that the BDA drivers are a lower level type driver that will allow advanced tools to capture and process data from the whole transponder, and the WDM drivers are a higher level driver, and newer driver model. If you don't know, use the WDM driver.
12. Install driver.
13. Do the same steps over for the Video driver.
14. Reboot PC.
If people are using the factory drivers, this will cause problems. Perhaps, this is why some people like Twinhan and some people can't get it right.
BTW the WDM drivers seem to use less resources than the BDA drivers, if you have a weak PC.
