Here Is a Quick Setup Guide For The ICon S550
Please remember that this is a new receiver and we are all still learning. If anyone has anything to add to the setup please post your finds here.
Step 1: Loading The Latest Software
Download the latest software from the ICon files section
Place the file onto your usb drive
Insert the usb drive into your S550
Go to the "channel setup" section and Select "file tools" from the menu
Select Usb Explorer
Here you will see all files on the usb Drive. Select the latest BL File
Press the red button on the remote while over the Bl file to start the loading process
Wait for your stb to reboot
Once your receiver reboots you will have the latest file on your ICon
Now Go to the "installation menu: and select "defaults setting"
Input your password (default pass is "0000")
Select "factory default" (this will add the Dn/B3V sats to your receiver, Not sure if this is required on every s/w update or just for the 1st time loading)
Step 2: Scanning
Go to the "installation" menu and select "antenna setting"
Setup your satellites as you normally would. For legacy lnb's select standard, for dishpro select dishpro.
Setup your switches. (remember everyones switch setup is different. if you need help setting up your switches please post in our forums)
Press the red button to save your sat's, then press exit
Now from the "installation" menu select "auto scan"
Hover over the sats you would like to scan and select all then press ok
Note:DO NOT scan b3v and Dn sats at the same time. it will screw up all of your channel data. Instead 1st scan all of the DN sats and then all of the B3V sats.
Once you are done scanning it will ask you if you want to save. Select yes if everything seems to be ok. If you only have a few channels go back and make sure your antenna settings are correct. Also make sure you have good signal levels on your sat's
Repeat scanning process for b3v (if needed)
Exit out of the menu's so you can see the channels
Step 3: Watching Tv
Press the "sat list" button on your remote and select dish network or bell express view depending on your setup. Then press ok twice(now all of your channels will be in the correct order.
Tune to a PPV channel and leave the stb there for a few minutes so it can roll the latest keys
