People asking for help in the Chat/Shout box

I was thinking about people asking for help in the shout box for a while and i came to this conclusion.

People come in and ask for help.
There are other people that are being helped and chat from other members.
Sometimes it is hard to follow the instructions.
Most of the time people ask the same questions that were just answered a while back.

Conclusion:
Have something that prompts ALL members to make a thread in the HELP section.
Although there are people who post in the The Help Center......It would be better if everyone did.

Advantages:
Help will be provided in detail and 1 on 1.
Less confusion over at the chat box.
People with the same questions can be directed back to the previous similar threads.

Bottom Line.......
I don't think that asking for help in the chatbox is great compared to the forums...
Better service for everyone.

Disadvantages:
The admins will think of this thread as a waste of forum space LoL
And i will be boo'ed out of this forum by the Mods =(((((((((((((((((

Good suggestions, but that's why we have the forums for.. People need to learn to start their own thread here on the forums.

I fully agree.

But i am saying that if everyone starts using the forum for help they will get much BETTER help than what they will get over at the Sat Chat.

I am only saying this to help other people.

maybe they just like coming here to chat :p ... or maybe they like coming there to get easy ban, i guess...

Sheeda...great suggestion...Something we suggest to everyone of them...These people are so lazy, that posting in the forum is the equivalent of doing hard time...They post a question and are answered 3 times by 3 different people...and then come back with the same question again because they don't bother reading the chat...If your gonna ask a question, read the chat to see if anyone answered...If they have the attention of a goldfish, they won't post in the forums...and if they did, I guarantee it would be in the New users Handbook section, or Satellite News section...or lost somewhere in the FAQ's and Guides section...they want a quick answer and they're gone...In a perfect world your suggestion would be wonderful...And We do direct them to the forums...especially if it's a fast night (like an ECM night)...but they don't wanna take the time to come here to post..then have to wait for an answer...You have a great way of thinking...keep up the good work..
