Qwest is pulling the plug on its video effort.
The telco confirmed that it's ramping down its Choice TV offering in a number of Phoenix-area communities: Gilbert, Chandler, Paradise Valley, Scottsdale and unincorporated areas of Maricopa and Pinal counties. Press reports stated that there are 42,000 video customers with the service in Arizona.
Also, Choice TV customers in the southern suburbs of Denver have been notified about the service changes.
The phase out recently started, and is expected to continue through next year.
With the demise of Choice TV, Qwest said it's offering customers DIRECTV service as well as fiber-to-the-node high-speed internet options.
