i love my sonicview 8000 it has to be number one i would say,but myself im leaning towards the nfusions new hd receiver,it runs on iks tho, plenty a info on that in the forums, as there the only one getting any bev stations at the moment, and i say if things get rough wich im sure they will,,they will have some form of tv while others wait in the dark, this is just my opinion
i say do your homework and you will be happy with your choice :D

and i have the pansat 9200 what can i say blacklist knows his shit
so nfusions is the best for now because its the only one that keeps the channels alive?
what about the 8psk is that a software? and why an AH receiver need an addon?
doesn't suppose to see tv in High def if you have an HD tv out of the box?

ASAD,
You require both HD tv and HD receiver to watch sat HD programs. The 8psk is an add-on board to currently receive Dish HD programs. Nfusion uses a card sharing system over the internet and requires you to be connected to their overseas server!
**** CAUTION: I suggest that you read about the Dangers of Nfusion IKS system, and judge the risk factor carefully****
i see thx for the info
where can i learn/read more?
and i was thinking on getting a viewsat 9000 hd, looks like its still way better than the viewsat maxHD in specifications
the idea is to use it for Dish net

ASAD,
If you press home button , you will get the main page, scroll down to the 4th section called General FAQ's and Guides and select the receiver of choice and model for info. Also the next section down is for Help and discussions, a sub-section there is also for IKS.
** Additional word of caution! With N3 on the doorstep so to speak, it is uncertain when and if we will return to normal viewing. That said, I would be reluctant about spending lots on new receivers now! My $0.02

You need 8spk to get true HD were you live does not matter you need a HD dish ( I have a D!$h 1000 Dish ) and Viewsat MaxHD to be true HD!!!:drunk:
False, normal dish and lnb`s are fine

i have had a sv8000, vs9000, and captain 8000. been running a captiveworks 3000hd rev2 for almost a year now. my opinion the best is the captiveworks. although the 3000hd is no longer available, it has been replaced with the 4000hd. support is second to none. picture quality is second to none, and all the extras are worth more than other recievers. you get dvd\cd player burner, internet, hd sat tv, dvr, and web/ip radio/tv for under $500 with 8psk mod built in. add $100 for 500gig hard drive and you can record more movies/tv shows than you will ever watch. only draw back is that they have no sound through hdmi yet, but cw comes out with upgrades frequently, and rumor is it will be supported soon. also with network access you can auto download all updates from an ftp server, so when websites are busy you can always download your files (which are usually out well before sv and vs). also the files last longer for some reason, sometimes only having issues every 3rd or 4th ecm.

I have a Max HD and the picture is amazing. I was surprised that I had to buy an add on 8spk card to get HD. Why would they call it HD if it isnt? The DVR function isn't great. I have recorded shows and only ended up with a few minutes of it.
This box is very user friendly. EPG looks great.
My dish is an old (at least 6 years) DTV dish that was here when I moved in. It gets HD with no problem.

SV8000 is the HD king.... But MPEG 4 is coming, so in the end will make a nice book end in the future..If Nag3 doesn't kill it first..
How N 3 can kill SV8k , seems to me little inposible .... my 2 cent's:taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz:

I was going to get a SV 8000 but with N3 and mpeg4 being a qustion I'm going to hold off. I know theres nothing to do but wait to see what happens with N3. I've seen a where some are claiming SV8000 is mpeg4 compatible, although it's not in the specs. Anyone able to give a difinitive answer on this?
