its good to have diffrent brands one mabe up when the others down captiveworks 800s is a good stb sonicview makes agood stb or infusion if you want to go wierless it is almost always up and running . the best stb are the ones that get the files first or pretty close to first

I agree its good to have more than one box,I have a vs9000 and its been very good to me and is always one of the first to have a fix and user friendly as I have never had any serious problems with it.

i agre vs9000 is the best in the market but beside viewsat which is another alternative that is bit cheaper than vs9000.

I totally agree with Slayer...using any money now to buy a receiver is useless until we see what happens with N3...Unless your totally into FTA, then by all means but it...But if your buying it solely for the purpose to get HD channels on BEV or DN, I would wait...If and when there is a crack for it, I would still give it a month after that to make sure they don't counter with anything else...Then if not, I would feel safe to buy one...

Just my 2 cents

I'm fairly new to fta. Purchased my Nfusion Nova in August and in hindsight, made the right choice. Have lots of friends with other receivers. DN & B3V working great for me minus the PPV on B3V. I like the fact that with Nfusion, being connected to their server, fixes are extremely quick (most times it's done automatically and seamless), but even if you have to load a bin, you can do it via the remote control or your PC. I would also caution on spending any money now until DN is finished moving to N3. Keep checking the sites and see what happens. My confidence is pretty high that Nfusion will solve the problem, but you just never know.

cnx and viewsat have worked very well for me,hardly ever lose both. both have very good support people.

I'm also thinking of a new FTA box for HD and I see the wisdom in waiting till this whole N3 issue has been resolved. I am curious what D*sh and B3v are going to do about NFusion and any other FTA that decide to run servers. Obviously, the servers need to be located in a country the Sat companies can't touch, so that just leaves the individual box owners. Are they going to go after these people the way Direct went after people who brought unloopers?

Good questions Rhinomann. The server for Nfusion, called S.U.N.S. is located overseas and very secure. It also only sends very small packets of information. No one has ever been busted yet with Nfusion, and it's obviously in Nfusions best interest to keep it that way. But there are certainly no guarantees on this.

I would guess fta sites are just as risky. Anytime you connect to the net you can potentially be traced.

Nfusion sales have certainly skyrocketed since the B3V fix (minus PPV).

I go to a few fta sites and there is always someone asking about, what is the best receiver. The 2 answers that were given by fallen angel & s1ay3r have to be the best I ever heard. Thanks for caring and being so
honest..:)

I got 2 of the CW700s when I first got into FTA About 2 years ago. Was not sure about anything and the price was right. Down time is at a minimum and it seemed easy to program.

From what I read the biggest thing to to get a reputable brand. And also by from a reputable dealer. This is to insure you get the real deal and not a clone. Features are different on different boxes. I think it is mostly the "name" brands and what you want and want to spend.
