I don't see how they can get all the receivers changed out and new G3 cards to everyone by 04/08 and Charlie told the investors it would be fall however DISH stock has started going up based on the projections to get the system secured so I guess anything is possible but that date doesn't seem to likely.

The Dates are a rumor Hence it is put in the Rumor section. And When channels move to N3 there will be no fix for a while.

But yehh we are going Black in the near future! :rolleyes:

DN will definitely being going black very soon.

One suggestion is to get an nfusion and at least you can watch B3V and over 200 channels. They have been adding a few more channels recently with promises (take it for what it's worth) of more to come. Still you can pick one up for $ 240 ish. Pays for itself in a very short while. The HD receivers are really selling but that is quite a few more bucks. I've had my Nova for almost a year and works great.

You have to try one to realize how little down time you have. You will have to be connected to the internet while you're watching TV.

Like they say, do some research and find out for yourself what options are out there.

If IKS and nFusion are up and working for BEV, they will be for DN not long after which is good news for all that have the other brands of FTA. Viewsat et.al. will do what they can to have fixes out as soon as possible knowing if they don't they'll be out of business.

I have learned from my guy that the xtreme is finished when dn moves to n3 but that the ultra will accept the n3 so anyone with the ultra will not have to purchase a new receiver for n3. and the nfusion is selling here for 159 canadian and he says i dont need one as i have an ultra.

Based on the above; The international is Gone; PPV is still on, but i agree shortly that shall be gone too; where are our masters? Why theya re not sucessful to have the new files that works on all?
Do you think this is going to be gone for good?

Who knows for sure when the shut off dates will be. They said mid summer .

Years ago we got all kinds of scams sent to us about the old H and Hu cards . If they crack the N3 ? Then we will have Tv . Charlie said that they have another card swap in the works after this one .

I think they will or have cracked the Nag 3 cards. To much money at risk . I am testing and reading about the old BUDS . Big Ugly Dish . C Band .

If all else fails ? You will have something .

These are my thoughts on N3.

IKS boxes are receiving many channels on Bev which is now N3. This means that the box hardware can work with the N3 encryption, at least with the channels presently open. Maybe all the channels will be available in the future.

If the IKS boxes can work with N3, then probably a number of other boxes out there also can, meaning that a new box may not be needed. However, all the different encryption routines of the N3 card are needed to be known to be certain of this.

There is another factor that will mean a new box for SD viewers which is the change to MPEG-4. Some DN satellites are already MPEG-4. HD boxes can already receive MPEG-4 although N3 might be a problem on some HD boxes. Time will tell.

Im somewhat of a rookie to all of this, but I just received my new smartcards in the mail for charlie. Complete with instructions of an security change effective 3/25/09. The letter stated that service would be interupted without change. I believe the end is here. :shit:

I dont beleive n3 is anytime real soon for dik......Why does dik keep rolling keys? He rolled another one on the 9th. If its anything like bev it wont before a while. Bev stopped rolling keys 2 or 3 months before they shut it all off............

i seem local asian satellite service company put up 30 inch plus dishes and pointing them to 118 with their logo on the dish. Maybe that's why asian channels didn't get move to n3 yet? because those stb's are not yet n3 ready? i'm not referring to mid east or Indian channels
