I read the previous posts, and would like to add something. I have set up a few motors, and now set them up very quickly with this method.
1) I used previous mounts from service providers already installed. This insured being level. The most important thing in a motorized setup is a level mount. Set your elevation on your motor. Never change this. If you think you are having problems with aiming, never change your motor elevation. You motor elevation must always match your longitude. (This ensures proper Arc alignment.)
2) program USALS for your location.
3) set the motor to 0 (AKA- Go to reference)
4) Drive the motor to the weakest bird you can see. (The weaker the better, If you achieve good signal on a weak bird, you know your aligned. I like using Galaxy25, or Galaxy 10)
5) turn your beep on signal on.
6) Go outside, and tweek your dish until you achieve the strongest signal that you can on that weak bird, and lock her down.
This method has worked perfectly for me. I have 99% quality on nearly anything I point at on the Belt.
